For Indian Fellows
Recent graduates from India can spend three to six months teaching English in carefully selected partner schools in Myanmar.
For Myanmar Schools
Partner schools host OpenThuta Fellows to strengthen English learning, expose students to international perspectives, and build international educational links.
Structured Placement
OpenThuta matches fellows with suitable schools, provides orientation, and coordinates accommodation and local support during the Fellowship.
Regional Education Bridge
The programme supports stronger educational ties between Myanmar and India and lays the groundwork for wider academic and cultural cooperation.
Why OpenThuta Exists
Across South and Southeast Asia, educational ties between neighbouring countries remain surprisingly limited. OpenThuta was created to build practical bridges between India and Myanmar by connecting young graduates, schools, and communities through short-term teaching fellowships.
The programme focuses on practical exchange rather than conferences or formal diplomacy. By placing fellows directly in classrooms, OpenThuta helps strengthen English learning in Myanmar schools while giving Indian graduates meaningful international experience.
